At least it’s a nice day. Perfect for typing outside, a cool breeze and the relaxing sound of birds. It’s kinda freaking cause of the cemeteries on the side, but it’s tolerable. Nothing to do on a nice day. I feel like I’m wasting my time… Oh well, that’s life.

So today; take a shower, shave, get dressed, make bed, go to school, go for lunch, loiter, go home, sleep.

They were all animals today, from the old lady to the little girl to the 20 year-old. Animals, filthy, annoying, crying animals…..

The people are also very good looking. It’s like I’ve been sent to this paradise. I haven’t met anyone just yet but give me a break, it’s only been five days…

It’s also a lot of alone time, there’s no one to hold your hand anymore. Everything is up to you, the teachers care as much as you do, and some don’t even know the topic! All in all, my first week is going well… With the occasional look from the boys who pass by I’m enjoying it. Hahaha! The boys!

The BBC is reporting that Iraqi gay men are being MURDERED! How horrible!

It says hundreds of gay men have been targeted and killed in Iraq since 2004.

So-called honour killings also account for deaths where families punish their own kin in order to avoid public shame.

It must be very hard to be happy in Iraq… The pain they must go through for having no one understand them, it just brings so much sadness to my heart.

Liberty for all, pursuit of happiness, those phrases would mean nothing without them being in our Declaration of Independence.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

But how can we, as a people, believe this when it doesn’t even apply to everyone? Why can’t Obama even acknowledge the fact that the United States isn’t allowing its people’s their own freedom? How can the U.S. call itself land of the free when it’s people aren’t really free?

Now yes, some of you might argue that health care is a more important issue right now, and that the president is just focusing on the reform. But, how can you overlook the amount of campaign promises that have been ignored by his administration?

We, as a community, must come together and demand for our equal freedom. We must use our right of free speech and march in the streets. We have struggled way to long, and we need to act. It’s our right to be happy and it’s our right to be free. Aren’t those ideas what this country was created on?

It seems that we have lost all hope in our new president, and many of us regret voting for him…

Times will get tougher before they get better but, we must not loose hope in ourselves. America’s opinion has changed many times before, and it can still change today.

To many questions go unanswered. All we can do now, is walk forward, hoping that a better day will come, a day when we will all truly be free.
